Internal Medicine practices are ones that address many problems that patients have.  In providing all-encompassing care to patients, these practices need to know about changes in many arenas.  Changes to CPT® and ICD-10-CM codes in addition to changes in CMS/Medicare rules are all part of the education that these providers and their offices need to undertake each year.  For 2024, there are changes in all of these areas that are significant.  A code for the practice expense of a pelvic exam is now in place for example.  Were you aware of this?

This updates webinar will provide valuable information for coding and billing as well as changes in guidelines and rules for providers in their work with their Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.  Also important is the change in status of a code for longevity of care.  This code is now payable for Medicare patients and adds reimbursement for time spent with patients as the focal point of their health care needs for a single condition or complex condition.   There are also new care management codes.  There are codes for principal navigation, a social determinant of health assessment and community health integration.  All of these codes pay for services that an internal medicine office would potentially perform.  In some cases, your office may already be performing the service but you don’t know it is a billable.
